Polar Star Mining is committed to fulfilling its social and environmental responsibilities. We work closely with government and local municipalities to ensure that we observe the regulations to maintain and protect the environment. Every effort is made to minimize operational impact. We are aware of the heritage and culture in which we operate and do our best to help support local communities where possible.

On February 27, 2010 an 8.8 magnitude earthquake centered just south of the Talca region where we have operations, devastated the country. Polar Star responded by contributing 31 temporary shelters as well as heavy equipment to help residents recover from the disaster.
